Brief Introduction of CMA

 China Meat Association (English name abbreviation is CMA) is approved and registered by the Ministry of Civil Administration of People's Republic of China. It is a nationwide social organization. The Headquarter is in Beijing.

 CMA membership is made up of enterprises which include meat production, management, slaughtering, processing, cold storage, wholesales, and machinery etc. Other related scientific research, designing companies, news agencies, colleges, local social organizations which are from different industries & districts, and which have no ownership limitation and non-profit, but have legal qualification are also members of CMA. In total there are 600 members CMA is a director of IMS and member of IMS Executive Council.
 Main Function:
 1.To promote and publicize and carry out state polices and decree, reflect opinions and demands of enterprises and defend legal rights of enterprises from intrusion.
 2.To strengthen enterprise management commissioned by government.
This includes:
 Research orientation of meat industry development, offer suggestion on the development stratagem  and industry polices to government; study out meat processing technical regulation, product quality standard; demonstrate important technical change, import, investment and development project.
 3.To hold national meat and processing equipment fairs, exhibitions, information release conference, seminars and technical seminars, and to promote and popularize the use of good scientific and technological achievement.
 4.To provide efficient and effective services enterprises on production, marketing information communication, management, science and technology, polices and rules, manpower training; to manage magazines and relevant publication, web information and yearbook.
 5.To organize international activities providing opportunities for enterprises from home and aboard to communicate on economic, trade (commercial) and technical matters.
 6.To coordinate and conduct works of branches specialized committees, large regional offices and local meat associations.
 CMA has five specialized committees and natural casing branches for distribution of meat, poultry and eggs, meat cold storage, meat processing, livestock and poultry slaughtering, meat science and technology, meat standard, and meat market information. CMA sets up six big-region offices in Shanghai, Shenyang, Tianjin, Wuhan, Chengdu, and Xian.
